I'm New
This assembly is a group of individual Christians drawn together by the love of Jesus Christ for worship and service. These individuals have freely chosen to participate, but their association is not like that of a social club or humanitarian organization. Rather, in becoming a Christian, each has been given a place in the body of Christ (His Church) and thereby is a joint participant with others of similar mindset. This assembly, then, is not born of our human desire, but is God’s creation.
We are not structured as a part of any spiritual organization or denomination, although we share the heritage of other churches of Christ. Because of this independence, we are free to study, teach and practice as our conscience (directed by the Bible) leads us. We deplore the division in today’s religious world and pray for a time when professing Christians will find a new deeper unity in Christ, breaking down the walls between us, and resulting in a more powerful witness to the entire world of His love.
Within this congregation, you will find people of varying background and life experience, all working together in harmony. The sole common thread in our lives is our individual relationship with Jesus Christ. For this reason, we are more than a congregation – we are truly a family! If you are seeking a church home, we invite you to visit our services. You will be warmly welcomed, but more importantly, you will be awed by our Savior!

Openness & Respect
When you visit with us, you will be treated as an honored guest. You will not be singled out, put on the spot, asked for money, or pressured to sign up or join anything. You will be given the opportunity to learn about God and the Bible – at your own pace – and to join others in worship and fellowship activities.
There is no dress code and members (even our leaders) wear no name but Christian. In so doing, we fully recognize that nobody among us has attained all that His Name represents. We are ordinary people, with problems, struggles and hang-ups like everybody else. We have simply learned that there is a God Who loves us in spite of our imperfections and (as we submit to Him) is recreating us from the inside out. Therefore, we enthusiastically welcome others as they are, inviting them to join us in our quest to know God and His will more fully.
Simplicity & Sincerity
Our typical worship service is simple and easy to understand. We don’t use a lot of churchy terminology, nor do we engage in confusing rituals. We offer the sincere expression of our hearts in worship without reliance on special effects or “glitz.” Our music consists of “psalms, hymns and spiritual songs,” offered with gratitude to God (Colossians 3:16). Our prayers, largely spontaneous, are intended to communicate intimately with an all-powerful God, and not just make up part of the ritual. Each Sunday, the congregation jointly celebrates the Lord’s Supper: eating bread and drinking fruit of the vine in memory of the death of Christ. A free-will offering is collected during our service. This provides opportunity for members of the congregation to fiscally support its work and service to the community. We do not ask non-members to financially support our work, nor do we engage in fund-raising activities beyond these offerings.
The teaching of God’s Word is given a prominent position, in our classes and worship services. Sermons typically last 25-35 minutes and are both instructional and motivational. There is an attended nursery, as well as “Children’s Church” (for ages 3-12), providing age-appropriate lessons as an alternative to adult-focused sermons. We believe that the human authors of the Bible were directed by God’s Holy Spirit, producing an authoritative message from God to all humanity. For that reason, the Bible is the basis for all that we believe and practice. You will never be asked to accept what any person says about God; rather we encourage you to read the Bible for yourself and learn its divinely-inspired message.
Membership & Salvation
Entrance into this assembly is by baptism or transfer of membership from another locale. The good news of Christ is that salvation is available to all people. A relationship with God begins with faith in Christ (Romans 10:17). That belief leads one to change their life (repent) and confess one’s faith in Jesus (Luke 24:47 and Romans 10:9-10). These steps culminate in water baptism for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38), as one re-enacts Christ’s death, burial and resurrection and experiences a divine personal transformation from an old man in sin to a new man in Christ (Romans 6:3-4). Since only believers are baptized, we do not practice nor recognize infant baptism. And because the early church practiced immersion, we adhere to that same practice today. Receiving God’s gift of salvation is the same as gaining membership in His Church (Acts 2:47); hence there is no other initiation process or requirement.
Ministry & Service
We do not exist for selfish purpose, but to emulate Him Who came to minister to others. Therefore we help in the support of missions and service activities, both locally and abroad. As declared in our congregational Mission Statement, we focus on activities of upreach, inreach, and outreach to demonstrate the love of Christ in action. Our marching orders have been given by our Lord Himself in Matthew 28:18-20:
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
