This year for us, will see an intensifying of our efforts to increase our knowledge, for the purpose of being more effective in bringing others to Christ. Therefore, for the ensuing weeks, I will use this space to share each week a common rejection of God by unbelievers, and an answer to overcome the objection. I encourage you to use this as your personal study to prepare you for future conversations.
Unbeliever: “A loving God would never send people to hell”. Answer: If a judge would allow murderers, rapist, thieves and child molesters to go free, there would be a public outcry for his not carrying out proper justice. However, when it comes to a Holy and Righteous God executing right justice you complain. God does not send people to hell; he merely tells them that he no longer will pursue them in an attempt for them to love him. Therefore, the only way this is possible for him to do this, is to send them where he is not. Thus, hell becomes their destiny because God loves them enough to honor their freewill by choosing to not worship him as their God. It is a sad commentary on a life when they realize it was their choice them sent them to eternal torment. It is up to us to do all we can to rescue them from this impending fate.
