We read it. We sing it. We pray it, but how much do we believe it, but how far will you go in trusting it? What am I talking about? The ability of God to do all things. To make a way out of no way. To open doors that did not appear to be there. To fix broken situations way beyond what we ever imagined. The truth is, yes we do serve a limitless God who can do far beyond the impossible; Genesis 1:1-28 validates that point. Some may argue, that was then, and this is now. God doesn’t do those kinds of things anymore, especially in my life. That thinking almost challenges God to do something to prove who he is and that he can still do what many believe he once did. Did you see what I did? I said many. Not you. Others. And perhaps maybe that is where the problem lies. Many are so busy looking for impressive manifestations of God’s abilities, that they miss what he is doing right in front of them. Of course, he can still move mountains, and cause the sea to rise up violently and destroy everything in it’s path. But I believe his greatest work today, is moving hearts of stone into a trusting loving relationship with him. And it all begins with Hebrews 11:6 “without faith it is impossible to please God.” Faith is the key ingredient in our trust when we need God to do the impossible. Faith solidifies our faith and gives it substance. Faith puts our spiritual lives on firm ground. Faith creates a belief against all the odds, and in the face of all opposition. It is our faith that causes us to hug the blood stained cross with cries of “thank you” on our lips. You struggle to see God move in your life? Check your faith. And yes whatever you need our God can and will provide. Blessings.
