One of my favorite bible verses is Hebrews 12:2. As the early church was facing heavy persecution, many of the believers were losing their faith, and returning back to the safety of Judaism. It was during this time the writer of the book, used chapter 11 to remind his readers of the challenges of others long ago who also faced similar challenges and how they all overcame by depending on, and demonstrating their faith. He then reminds his readers that there is a great cloud of witnesses that have preceded them, urging them to keep going until the end. It is then in verse 2 that he gives them the key to persevering through their trials. “Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus.” All of us face various challenges throughout the course of our lives, and the only way to persevere through those challenges is with our eyes fixed on Jesus. He becomes our compass as we seek to navigate our difficulty. He becomes our example as to how we are to react and respond. He is also our strength as we remember what he endured on the cross for us. In everything we do, the challenge is to face it with our eyes fixed on Jesus. When we do that, we will make it through. We will endure the hardship. We will honor our God as we walk through the fire. That is how we bring glory to him everyday, in every decision, in every moment. God is doing wonderful things among us, let us do all we can to glorify him with our lives. Blessings
